Higgs Self Coupling and Electroweak Phase Transition

Abstract
While the measurement of the Higgs self couplings is essential to reconstruct the global picture of the Higgs potential in bottom-up approach, it is very difficult to obtain a meaningful precision on them at the current LHC. In this talk, we will discuss about the prospect for the precision of the trilinear Higgs self coupling at the High Luminosity LHC. A large deviation of the Higgs self coupling is still experimentally allowed. A very interesting new physics scenario with a large deviation is baryogenesis based on a strong 1st order electroweak phase transition. We will consider a few classes of scenarios that realize the strong 1st order electroweak phase transition and will show that HL LHC can have a meaningful constraint on them.
